Lee Copenhaver

The Well-Tempered Cellist

I've selected works from the two volumes of Bach: "The Well-Tempered Clavier" (and others), and adapted them for cellists/chamber musicians.

Before making these wonderful works available, I've edited them with bowings, articulations, dynamics,  and suggested tempo ranges.

The works have been transposed to lower keys to make them more playable and more resonant.

The highest parts are within the range of the viola; I can easily move any to alto clef and send.

I prefer these as on-on-a-part chamber pieces (and have recorded them that way), but they could be effective for cello choir.

I hope to hear of your performances!
